Everything you need to know about alt Create Hub, our programmes, and how we work.
About alt Create Hub
alt Create Hub is an Alternative Provision for young people aged 11–16. We offer structured, accredited learning in a small-group setting (1:4 ratio) for 2–3 days per week. We work alongside schools to help young people re-engage with their education.
No. We are deliberately and unapologetically different from school. We are a focused, high-tech provision designed to complement mainstream education, not replace it.
Two things: our high-tech environment and our qualifications. Our space is purpose-built around technology — e-sports rigs, gaming setups, and digital tools. And every programme leads to a nationally recognised qualification from AQA, Pearson (BTEC), or ASDAN.
No. alt Create Hub is an independent provision with its own identity, approach, and billing model.
Programmes & Qualifications
We offer three accredited qualification routes: AQA Unit Awards, BTEC in E-Sports (Level 1-2), and ASDAN Wider Skills & Preparation for Life.
Yes. AQA Unit Awards are certified by AQA, the BTEC is awarded by Pearson, and ASDAN qualifications are nationally recognised. These are real, valued qualifications — not certificates of attendance.
All assessment is evidence-based and portfolio-driven. There are no formal exams. Young people demonstrate their learning through practical work, projects, and documented evidence.
Attendance & Structure
The typical offer is 2 days per week. Some students may attend for up to 3 days, depending on their needs. Students continue attending their mainstream school for the remaining days.
Students arrive and check in with their key adult. The day is structured around focused sessions in our high-tech space — which might include competitive e-sports, digital skills work, life skills, or portfolio building — with proper breaks built in.
Our space is equipped with professional-grade e-sports and gaming setups, multi-monitor rigs, and digital creative tools. This isn't a laptop trolley in a borrowed classroom.
Yes. alt Create Hub is a part-time provision. Your child remains on their school's roll and continues to attend school for the rest of the week.
Staffing & Safety
1 adult to every 4 students. This is core to our approach and is non-negotiable.
All staff are Enhanced DBS-checked and safeguarding-trained. Our 1:4 ratio means every young person is known and visible at all times. We follow robust safeguarding policies.
No. Our young people need consistency. They see the same trusted adults every session.
Referrals & Billing
Referrals come through the student's school. We work with the school to assess whether alt Create Hub is the right fit.
We operate on a per-session model. Schools pay for the sessions each student attends. There are no block bookings or minimum commitments.
You don't pay. Our billing is based on attendance, not bookings.
For Parents
Yes. While referrals come through schools, we welcome conversations with parents and carers.
Yes. We encourage parents and carers to see the space and meet the team before any placement begins. Get in touch to arrange a visit.
